Personality And Appearance: Elayna is an ambitious woman. She has a very assertive personality. She's beautiful and wants to be a captain. When Cassidy was promoted before her she was upset. She is very good at hiding her feelings.
Background: Elayna entered Starfleet Academy a little late in life. She had been the secretary to an ambassador for a time. She had always been interested in Starfleet, but her parents had objected. After their passing in an accident she was free to do as she chose. She passed the Starfleet Entrance exam and did extremely well in all subjects, graduating at the top of her class. She was however too aggressive at times and clashed with other crew members on two assignments. She had promise however as a tactician, and Starfleet saw her potential. She moved up the ranks becoming a Commander on the USS Corinthian.
Then during a training exercise she intimidated the bridge crew, wanting to win the exercise. They complained to the ship's captain who in turn placed a reprimand in her file. Elayna's upward movement stopped and she remained a Commander for some time. When the Endeavor's captain position opened she applied but was passed over. Though angry at being put aside for Cassidy she realized that under her present Captain she would never move up in rank. She requested a transfer to the Endeavor as First Officer and it was granted. At first she was jealous and struggled with having to obey Cassidy's orders. But as time went on she came to respect her and they make an excellent command team. One of only a few female Captain/First Officer Combos.
